Patricia Mitchell has always been interested in helping people—whether it was through health care or beauty. This is largely why she first became interested in electrolysis. “I wanted to help others dealing with hormonal hair growth, and aid them in the best way I could”.

Even before that, she sought to help others in the medical field, and pursued a degree in nursing while living in Nicaragua, and graduated from college in Mexico in 1994. Patricia worked as a nurse before meeting her wonderful husband.

After moving to the United States, she took permanent makeup courses and became certified as a medical assistant.

When her daughter wanted treatments for her arms, she began seriously looking into electrolysis. She began learning about the process, and realized electrolysis was a treatment she could get behind.

Patricia decided to attend the Electrology Institute of New England, where she completed the 600 hours of study required by the state of CT and got her license. After she gained work experience, she opened her own practice and continues to welcome clients from all over.  She has been practicing Electrolysis for 6 years.

Lisa Day joined Alpha Electrolysis in November of 2019.  She was first personally introduced to electrolysis at a young age, and thought it was the best thing ever to permanently get rid of her unwanted hair. Her interest in electrolysis didn’t wane, so she decided to attend South County Electrolysis in Rhode Island, which specializes in one on one training. She completed the 600 hours of study required by the state of CT and got her license. Prior to becoming an electrologist, Lisa got her cosmetology license.  Working as a hairdresser gave her a better understanding of hair and skin.  which led her to getting trained and licensed as an electrologist. Now she looks forward to helping people and giving the results of hair free skin.

Most clients describe the feeling as a “tingling,” though some experience more pain. How many treatments you will need depends on multiple factors, since it varies from person to person. We recommend that you wait about a week between treatments so that the area has some time to properly heal.
